TONI ‘NEVER WALKED ALONE’
on her 270 MILE CHARITY WALK to LIVERPOOL.
TONI PARKER, started her marathon 270 mile walk from Lowestoft to Liverpool to raise funds for The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation at 9.30am on Thursday, the 2nd October.
The 34 year old Fundraiser had been training at Warner’s Leisure Hotel gymnasium in Lowestoft and was accompanied from the start – at her home address – by Simpsons Motor Caravan Centre’s director, Belinda Crick, and her motorhome driver, Dave ‘Duchess’ O’ Rourke, and her two close friends, Cheryl Rawlinson and Laura Cox who both accompanied Toni on the first leg of her mammoth charity walk.
Simpsons, of Suffolk Road, Great Yarmouth, sponsored and supported Toni with a 5 berth motorhome for herself and support team to sleep in during the 11 day walk across England.
Toni sadly lost her mother to lung cancer in November 2005, and she was determined to raise awareness on lung cancer and also raise as much money as she could through her epic walk.
“I tried to comprehend the endurance aspect of lung cancer treatment and that’s one of the reasons why I undertook the hike to Liverpool,” she told us. “The other was I dedicated my journey to mum – who sadly lost her battle with lung cancer in 2005 – and to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation who do an amazing job in research, prevention and support for lung cancer sufferers.”
Belinda Crick added, “I was amazed at Toni’s efforts to improve awareness on lung cancer and the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation’s tireless work. We at Simpsons Motor Caravan Centre had to support her marathon 270 mile fundraising walk to Liverpool with one of our motorhomes.”
Toni added, “It was unbelievably challenging. You can train to get your fitness and stamina up, but you can't prepare for it mentally. I really had to force myself to carry on; particularly when it was raining and I ached all over... I'm glad I did it though and raised £5,000 for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation who do such great work helping so many people across Great Britain.”

NICOLA WINS the BEACH’S SUMMER VACATION COMPETITION
Congratulations to Nicola McCarthy and family.
Everyone at Simpsons Motor Caravan Centre are delighted Nicola won The Beach FM’s ‘Summer Vacation Competition’ – sponsored by Simpsons – where she had to identify the song title and singer of a track sequence played by Tim Lindon during his afternoon Radio Show.
Nicola immediately recognised Cliff Richard’s ‘Summer Holiday’ when it was played on air, and she can now go off this summer and enjoy a week’s exploration across Great Britain in a 4/5 berth motorhome supplied by Simpsons, together with her husband Adam, and daughters Scarlett (aged 4) and Chloe (age 9).
John Beckham, our Motorhome Hire Manager, was delighted to recently show Nicola and her family around the motorhome, when she was photographed being handed the keys to her Beach FM Summer Vacation holiday vehicle by The Beach’s DJ, Tim Linden, and The Beach Bunny. Looking on is a delighted John Beckham and Belinda Crick, our Motor Caravan Centre’s Director, who devised the competition together with Simpsons managing director, Andrew Aldis, and the production crew of The Beach FM Radio Station.

MICHELLE MOVES INTO MOTOR CARAVAN PARTS AND ACCESSORIES DEPARTMENT
Everyone at Simpsons Motor Caravan Centre is congratulating Michelle Wing on her recent promotion to Motorhome Parts and Accessories Adviser.
Since joining Simpsons in March, 2007, Michelle has been extremely busy
operating as a Sales Administrator from our Suffolk Road, Great Yarmouth, Sales Centre.
"It's been extremely busy ever since I joined Simpsons last spring. I've enjoyed every minute of it as we actually achieved a record year in motor caravan sales in 2007," she told us.
Michelle's first year baptism in the busy Motor Caravan Centre was sadly blighted by the sudden and unexpected loss of our Chairman, Simon Woodgreaves, a personal friend of Michelle's family.
"I was upset by Simon's sudden departure, but this new challenge is one which will utilise my motor caravan parts knowledge as well as my IT skills," she told us enthusiastically. "I will be busy expanding the Accessory Range available to motorhome enthusiasts, especially through our website. Keep a watchful eye on our accessory offers and regularly look at the online bargains," she added.
2008 EASTERN DEALER of the YEAR
The 2008 MMM Awards Ceremony, was recently held at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham, and Simpsons Motor Caravan Centre in Great Yarmouth was named Eastern Dealer of the Year.
Readers of MMM magazine had been asked to nominate which dealers they thought had consistently offered a great experience in terms of advice, sales and after-sales support. Their comments and suggestions - together with the expert knowledge of MMM's panel of judges- had culminated in Simpsons securing the top Eastern Dealer Award.
Our Group Managing Director, Andrew Aldis, was somewhat surprised and obviously elated with the unexpected MMM Award.
"I can't thank everyone in the Motor Caravan centre enough for all their hard work and dedication to customers' service standards. We pride ourselves on offering a level of expertise which reflects the past 45 years we have operated in the Motor Caravan industry and the MMM Award is testimony to this unprecedented level of service offered from an enthusiastic team of motor caravan staff".
